What style do you think characterises the pinot of your region?
Tasmania is a region with many and varied styles of pinot noir from the densely fruity and intense wines from the East Coast to the tightly structured and elegant wines of the Tamar Valley, but consistently vibrant fruit runs through the pinot noir wines in Tasmania, perhaps more so than any other region.
Tell us three things we need to know about your region?
Tasmania is a small state and distances are short, but pinot noir from each sub-region is very different.
Always try a new vintage of each wine, we are so weather and yield dependent that styles and expressions of pinot noir can change in a season.
Unique cellar door experiences are available all over the state; try to get to as many as you can.
What’s the one thing we simply must do in your region?
Just one?! It depends on your age, but mountain biking in Derby is becoming world renowned.
