In 2018, we published our own magazine dedicated to Pinot Palooza and all things pinot noir. Our first edition (with a 20k circ), was distributed to attendees in all cities giving it an estimated readership of 75k. To put those figures in context, we managed the same readership as Gourmet Traveller Wine for our first ever issue. It was even a finalist in the Wine Communicators of Australia Awards for Best Wine Publication (consumer). Bam!

In 2019, we’ll be doubling down and diving even deeper into your wine stories to share in print and all across our digital channels (and in multiple languages!). With an increased circulation of 40k, we’ll distribute to Pinot Palooza attendees, those at all our other events (MOULD, Game of Rhones, Gauchito Gil’s Malbec Day, etc) plus winery cellar doors and fine wine retailers.

Circulation will continue to grow as we expand to other cities and countries such as the USA, South Korea, Germany, mainland China and more.

And did we mention it’s free?

Below, you’ll find the welcome letter from REVEL director and founder Dan Sims for Issue #2.

Wine Digital Communicator of the Year 2018

Welcome To Pinot Palooza – Global Edition!

A lot can happen in a year.
As I sit here writing this, reflecting on the past twelve months and where we were this time last year, it seems fitting that we are about to embark on our biggest Pinot Palooza tour yet. Thirteen cities and six countries, which now includes Osaka in Japan and, for the first time in the USA, Los Angeles. Epic.

In your hand you hold the second edition of Pinot Palooza Magazine and I whole heartedly welcome you to it. Within these pages are a range of stories, insights, guides, discoveries and more from our year with pinot noir.

One of the best parts of our yearly global tour is travelling to amazing cities and destinations and Tokyo is right up there with our favourites. You’ll find our humble guide of that city within. In anticipation of our USA debut, we head to the Willamette Valley in Oregon where we very quickly fell in love with not only the wines, but the people and place. You’ll also read about another region close to our hearts, North Canterbury in New Zealand, an area where resilience and determination are not just embedded but a prerequisite.

Speaking of NZ, we interview this year’s People’s Choice winner Andrew Donaldson of Akitu (Central Otago) about his amazingly delicious wine and massive Pinot Palooza debut. Mike Bennie then talks all things German pinot noir plus we hear from good mate Andy Fenner on what is happening in South Africa before Susie Chung tells us how South Korea is fast becoming a wine hub (who’s up for Pinot Palooza Seoul?). Melanie Brown talks London. Stephen Wong chats NZ. The Wine RVLT boys talk Singapore. We check in with Samantha Payne about all things Australia and chat to May Chow about her Hong Kong experience. Campbell Burton reminds us how looking after soil makes a massive difference to the flavour of wine. A natural topic we should all care and ask about.

So again, welcome to not just this magazine, but a global community of like-minded wine souls.
Welcome to the Club. Make sure you try the wine.
